Organization

The Organization Committee will guide the preparation, implementation and monitoring of activities of the Congress. The Committee is composed of members from institutions such as CIFOR, IUFRO, Rights and Resources Institute, governmental organizations and from international cooperation agencies with experience and knowledge of forestry development and with particular interest in themes related to forestry extension and education, as well as representatives of the national authorities responsible for the implementation Soutamerica map of the revised framework for forestry promotion in Bolivia and Brazil as well as other regional experiences.
The committee will have an advisory or consultative role, providing orientation on issues such as, key participants, the development of the programme, organization of the technical content and preparation of the event. The Committee is operational in nature and will meet and communicate regularly.

The results of the Congress will be presented in a publication which will also be placed on the Congress website and, additionally, local events for the dissemination of the results of the Congress will be organized.

The Congress Secretary will plan, prepare and coordinate the implementation of the Congress and the monitoring of activities with an operational base in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Amazonian landscape The Secretary is responsible for the development of a financial plan and the design of the Congress programme and will work in close coordination with the National Directorate of Forest Resources of the Bolivian Government, the principal host organization of the event, providing logistical support for the organization and implementation of the Congress. During the two months immediately before the event, additional staff will be contracted to attend to the specific logistical aspects of the organization of the event.

Guided by the Organization Committee, the Committee Secretary will also be responsible for the preparatory study and the discussion document on the state of the art of forest extension and education in the region. To do this work the Secretary will carry out a revision of relevant experiences and will establish key contacts to prepare summaries of the descriptions of relevant specific experiences from the region to be presented as inputs for the discussions during the Congress.
