The manual intends to support forest professionals in planning, execution and evaluation of forest management techniques contributing to the sustainable use of forest resources. The manual covers basic aspects of planning of forest operations focusing in harvesting activities: pre-harvesting, harvesting and post-harvesting. Emphasis is given to mechanical harvesting of timber under the conditions of the Peruvian Amazon.
El manual abarca aspectos básicos y aplicados de planificación para el manejo operacional, con enfoque principal en actividades que componen las fases del aprovechamiento forestal: pre-aprovechamiento, extracción y post-aprovechamiento. El énfasis está dado a la extracción mecanizada de madera en condiciones de la Amazonía peruana.
