Research interests
I am interested in how we can understand and harness natural processes and plant-plant interactions for sustainable management. In this broad agenda, my focus is on silviculture and biodiversity-ecosystem functioning (BEF) relationships in mixed-species forests and agroforestry systems. Currently I use dendroecological approaches, biometric measurements and data synthesis to examine the effects of complementary resource use on tree growth and growth stability during drought. The project ‘Tree interaction history and spatio-temporal complementarity’ is carried out on the BEF-China platform as part of the DFG International Research Training Group TreeDì.
