Development of a national forestry master in Argentina

concluded 12/2013

This project supports the establishment of a network of Argentinean Universities with the initial aim to develop a national Master of Science course in Forest Sciences. The initiative takes advantage of recent experiences at the University of Freiburg with the organization of the international MSc programs “Environmental Governance”, “Forest, Ecology and Management” and “Renewable Energy Management Resources”. The curriculum will be established in consideration of the specific excellences of the participating Argentinean Universities. In addition , some selected students will have the opportunity to join MSc modules at the University of Freiburg . It is expected that this innovative approach for joining teaching competences and capacities will help to qualify scientists and practioneers in Argentina urgently required to achieve a more sustainable use of forests for the benefits of the local population.
